PARENTS JAILED FOR KILLING TODDLER DAUGHTER WHO DRANK METHADONE STORED IN HER TOM AND JERRY BEAKER

Two heroin-addict parents who killed their two-year-old daughter after she drank methadone stored in her Tom and Jerry cartoon beaker were jailed today for a total of 16 years.
Sophie Jones collapsed and died after her eyes went 'groggy' from drinking the liquid prescribed to wayward parents Michelle King and Barry Jones, 42, who also kept the substance in the tot's Fruit Shoot bottles.
A judge blasted the pair before locking them up, telling the shameless couple they loved their daughter, but 'loved their drugs more'.
King, 29, would sell on the methadone to fellow druggies, with users visiting the house who took a swig before buying heroin and cocaine to fund Sophie's parents' habit.
The couple were daily Class A users, so much so that Sophie had traces of four separate drugs in her hair, Preston Crown Court heard.
Close to midnight on March 4 this year, an ambulance was called to their home in Blackpool, Lancs, after Sophie stopped breathing and cops found a Tom and Jerry beaker hidden in the yard as well as incriminating text messages sent to Jones from King telling him about the methadone.
