The Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) will, on Friday,
December 12, graduate more than 4,000 students for the 26th and 27th
batches with more than 30 of the students in first class honours.
The vice chancellor of the university, Professor Chigozie Cyril Asiabaka, dropped the hint while answering questions at the pre-convocation press briefing, held at the university in Owerri, on Monday.
According to him, ‘‘this achievement is quite remarkable in spite of obvious environmental factors that affect the promotion of teaching, learning and research in the university.’’
He pointed out that the school would be graduating students from the postgraduate school, who had acquitted themselves creditably in various fields.
Professor Asiabaka said his administration strongly believed in training, development and retraining of its staff having realised that human capital development was a very critical aspect of their quest for excellence.
